GLASS ANTLERS

Nothing symbolizes my own pursuit of adventure more than a shed antler. The antler is just a nugget of an untold story. When I look at an antler I can't help but think of the wildness of the deer that carried it and the trail that it led me on in my pursuit for adventure, whether it was looking for sheds in the spring, scouting and shooting arrows in the summer, or the actual hunt itself. Whether the hunt was an evening sit after work or a week long, backpacking adventure, is irrelevant. It's those little tidbits and trinkets of memory that lie dormant in our souls, that when reawakened, bring back the joy and excitement of a special time and a special place, a special story, written deep in our hearts. An antler seems to do that for me!

My hope is that my glass antlers can do the same for you.

My journey with glass antlers started years ago while I was working for a large glass blowing company. For the most part, we were asked to make specific items, and that's what we would do for the day. On our breaks we could head to the break room or play around with the glass. Being young and ambitious, I valued that time and instead of heading to the break room, I would enjoy my swiss cake roll and coffee while trying to make glass, learning and trying things that we didn't get to do while working as an apprentice on production time. With the passion that I have for hunting, fishing and being outdoors, it wasn't long until I was trying to make deer antlers from glass. They didn't look like antlers at first and some of my co-workers would laugh and call my creations things that are probably best left unwritten. Eventually they started looking like antlers and I made some decent ones. It was then that I started thinking about the future and decided to sit on my idea until I had my own shop. And now I make them regularly. It's my favorite thing to make.

We recognize that not everyone is a whitetail fanatic like I am, but for those of you that are, we hope that our antlers inspire you and your friends to share your passions and stories with each other. After all, what good is a story if you have no one to share it with?
