Cordial Glass
These are our 8 oz. clear glasses. We decided to call them cordials as we love hanging out in the evening while drinking Jenelle’s homemade Blackberry Cordial in these smaller glasses. The glasses are approximately 3 & 1/4 inches tall with a 3 & 1/4 inch rim. These handblown glasses are high quality, yet still bring that homemade feel by not being totally symmetrical and containing small bubbles in the glass. No two glasses will be exactly alike but very similar in size and shape.
One summer Jenelle was looking for recipes to make with the blackberries that grow wild in these parts. She stumbled across this old recipe that works great with blackberries or grapes and probably currants or any other berry for that matter. Try it out for that back-home feel!
Blackberry Cordial
2 quarts blackberries
1 quart weak vinegar
2 cups sugar to each pint of juice
Clean and wash berries. Drain and pour the vinegar over them. Let stand 24 hours. Strain through a sieve or colander. Add sugar to juice and stir until dissolved. Boil for 30 min and then pour in jars and seal. When serving, add Ginger Ale to suit your taste.
